NCLE News Release: Government investment in new facility expands research and demonstration capacity of the National Centre for Livestock and the Environment
September 14, 2010 - Representatives of the governments of Canada and Manitoba, Manitoba Pork and the University of Manitoba gathered to announce a financial commitment to establish an Agricultural By-Products Processing Research and Demonstration Facility.
The $999,500 in funding under the the Canada-Manitoba Economic Partnership Agreement will spur the development of sustainable options for managing agricultural by-products, as well as new value-added economic opportunities for the agricultural industry.
The new facility will also expand the capacity to demonstrate new technologies and techniques, providing industry with ground-level knowledge of the research and development work of NCLE. This exchange of ideas and information between researchers and practitioners will play a vital role in creating opportunities for the agricultural companies that develop and provide novel and practical solutions for managing by-products.
This Facility is an initiative of Manitoba Pork and NCLE.
